With the fall of Qiqiao Festival, our company today organized a luck draw for our staff to share joy and fun in this one of the special festivals.
The Qixi Festival, also known as the Qiqiao Festival, takes place on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month on the Chinese calendar, originally come from people’s worship of celestial stars. As the day goes on, it has associated with a sad and beautiful mythology about the two lovers of Zhinü (the weaver girl) and Niulang (the cowherd). Therefore, it is nowadays considered as the most romantic traditional festival in China and dubbed with “China’s Valentine’s Day”.
There are many ways to celebrate the Qixi Festival in China. The most common customs include making Qiaoguo (Fired Thin Padtes); worshiping Zhinü; demonstrating threading skill; praying for happiness, wealth and longevity etc..
