CEBIT Hannover to be cancelled
Today, many social media sites show their sympathy for the cancellation of CeBIT 2019, once the world’s largest IT trade show. However, in my opinion, market competition is not the only major reason that makes its elimination in the market.
First of all, the German trade show industry is managed and organized by AUMA, who has long years of experience in putting on trade fairs in specific sectors. And each trade show is named after city. So it is also largely dependent on the city’s positioning strategy and infrastructure to develop.
Besides, IT and communication technology industry has not replaced by consumer electronic industry, not even in the future. However, with the rapid technological upgrading,
Low - tech has become outdated. A variety of technology waves come and go quickly, allowing many players cannot play this game. But let’s take a look at consumer electronics. Most of them are only designed to cater to consumers’ preferences. That is what low-cost player will do to fully reduce the tech and the production costs to be competitive in the export markets.
At last, trade show industry is not only affected by products showcased and the development of specific industry, but also by some other factors such as poor infrastructure and no enough hotels around for exhibitors. Compared with fairs in Las Vegas, USA and another city Berlin in Germany, lots of exhibitors are unwilling to participate in CeBIT trade show.
It is not totally who that beat who. It is time that makes choice. CeBIT, once the trade show giant, today claimed its decision to cancel. Farewell to CeBIT!
